Tales of creatures, swashbuckling buccaneers, and fearless heroines are whispered in taverns and drift around campfires. Some call the mysterious pirate captain a hero, others a villain, and a few fear her as a monster.

So, who is Ghosthand?

Let's ask the people of Tidalora.

Dock smuggler who got thrown in the harbor

“My partner and I fought the Ghosthand two-on-one at the docks. We had swords and daggers and she was unarmed. Well, she has the one arm with the—you know? One second, I’m fighting her on the dock. Next second I’m airborne, wet, and cold. I heard she gave our stolen crystals away. I'm not going back to Stormglass Rock. And I'm definitely not going back to that harbor.”

Superstitious woman in Waverun Beach

“They say she sails with a vampire, a werewolf, and a poltergeist. If that woman invites you aboard her dark ship, you best be polite… because either she’ll save your life, or you’ll wake up as part of the crew.”

Wildpaw

“Ghosthand is the best captain ever! She lets us explore, fight villains, eat pie on deck, and occasionally crash ships into islands to save people. Also she trusts us, which is way more fun than orders.”

Sunbyrn

“I've lived on Stormglass Rock my whole life. I’ve never met her, but I hear she shows up when there's trouble. Brave enough to sail where she wants and helps people without asking for permission? I wish I had that kind of freedom.”

Siren Corsair

“My Prism Sea is not an open road for pirate ships to wander. Haunted or not, the sea remembers every trespass.”

Ling Shou

“Most captains would have made me walk the plank after finding a stowaway trying to break into their Treasure Closet. Ghosthand said, ‘Use your talents for good,’ and offered me a job. That’s when I knew I’d found the right ship. Then our first mate, Sharkblood, made me swab the decks for a week.”

Tidalora bar owner

“I heard the captain’s arm is made of burning bone and her first mate is a vampire. Personally, I don’t care what they are. The last gang that tried to rob me ended up tied to a pier with a note that said, ‘Remember to tip your bartenders.’”

Queen Catalina Fairshore, ruler of Tidalora

“Pirates believe themselves outside of the law. Legends abound of a supernatural ship with black sails that haunts the Prism Sea. Some of my people fear her, while others admire her. But that one commands loyalty. My navy is keeping a close eye on her.”

Kageko

Kageko floats beside Ghosthand silently and still. Ghosthand takes the young poltergeist's hand in hers. Kageko smiles softly, as Ghosthand is one of the few people who can touch her.

Girl in Tidalora

“When I grow up, I’m going to sail around helping people like Ghosthand! Except I’ll probably keep both my arms. My mom says the ghost one sounds cold.”
